CA Law Expanding Farmworker Union Rights

(Sacramento, CA) — A new law is expanding farmworker rights across California. Governor Gavin Newsom says they’re “the lifeblood” of the state and have a fundamental right to unionize and advocate for themselves in the workplace. He signed the bill alongside advocates and farmworkers outside the State Capitol yesterday.

The law will allow farmworkers to vote in union elections either in person, by mail-in ballot or with authorization cards.
