BRIDGE STREET BUSINESS VANDALIZED AFTER DISPLAYING BLACK LIVES MATTER SIGN

The Yuba City Police Department is investigating the vandalism of a Black Lives Matter sign on a business in the 1100 block of Bridge Street. Someone covered it with a Thin Blue Line flag and spray painted the windows of that business blue.

A strong statement in a press release from Lt. Sam Escheman says “the Yuba City Police Department does not support or tolerate the use of law enforcement symbols to deface property or intimidate people for their beliefs or support of other causes.”

The investigation is continuing “with the goal of finding those responsible and using the full extent of the law to hold the suspects accountable.” Additional patrols in the area are also being deployed to help protect the victim and the victim’s property.
